What made you want to be a surrogate?
I was pregnant with my third child when I ended up losing him. I was heartbroken but even through all of that pain, I was able to get pregnant again and gave birth to our beautiful daughter.
This made me think about how fortunate and blessed my husband and I were to be able to get pregnant again. I learned that there is a lot of infertility out there and women don’t talk about it much. That’s when I decided to become a surrogate and help other families.
I believe that it is an amazing gift to give.
How did your experience change you?
I have completed 3 journeys with Surrogacy By Faith and I am forever changed by those experiences.
It has definitely opened my eyes to infertility which is really is a true struggle.
Being a surrogate also made me build all these friendships that I never thought I would have gained. The parents and the kids are part of our lives now and I love to be able to watch the children grow.
Not only did it change my husband and I’s life, but I’m also able to show my kids what it is to serve other people and give all of ourselves for the greater good. We’re doing this to be able to help a family bring a life into the world. It’s been a blessing to be able to share that with my kids.

Are there requirements to be a surrogate?
As you do research into the surrogacy process, you will no doubt see lists of surrogate requirements on pretty much any agency’s website. These lists might look intimidating, but the qualifications are in place for a reason. It’s optimal for everyone involved that any woman who wants to become a surrogate can physically and mentally handle an IVF pregnancy and delivery. This is why every hopeful surrogate must undergo a medical screening to determine their overall health.
How long does all the testing and evaluations take before my surrogate profile goes live?
Once you have decided to join our agency, the whole process takes less than 30 days if your schedule allows for all the appointments.
How long does it take to be matched with patient parents?
Since our process at Surrogacy by Faith is different from every other agency out there, the matching process may take longer than a traditional agency. Southern California surrogates tend to get matched quicker than most surrogates. It is our hope that God provides a match within 4 months of completing the screening process.
Can I choose the individual or couple that I work with?
The decision to work with an individual or couple is mutually agreed upon by you and the other party. You will be presented with profiles of available intended parents that meet your criteria and you will choose who you would like to speak with. The relationship between you and the parent(s) you work with is of the utmost importance to us. We take the matching process very seriously and your role in this process is paramount.
Can I go to my own OB once I am pregnant?
Yes, provided that your OB accepts the health insurance plan being utilized for the pregnancy. Together, you and your intended parents will decide upon the physician that cares for you during pregnancy. Many surrogates return to the physician that delivered their own children for the surrogate pregnancy.
How are financial issues handled?
All funds related to your surrogacy will be held in an escrow account that is managed by an independent attorney or an experienced escrow company, so that all monies due for your surrogate fees and reimbursement of related expenses are timely paid. All financial matters will be handled by the agency, removing this component from your relationship with the intended parents.
Will there be any costs to me as a surrogate?
Initially, you may have expenses related to mailing your medical records, traveling to your testing and screening appointments and obtaining health insurance. Once you have been matched and contracts are in place, you will receive compensation to cover all related expenses.
Who pays for me to travel if I don’t live near the agency or the intended parents?
The intended parents that you are matched with will pay any traveling expenses related to your surrogacy.
